(Quarter IV/2024)
Diesel locomotive 112 278 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn.
■ In burgundy red colouring
■ Die-cast metal chassis
In 1972, the Deutsche Reichsbahn initially equipped three examples of the Class 110 with a 1,200 hp diesel engine in the former GDR on a trial basis, which also proved excellent in express train service. Like other components, the fluid gearbox has been adapted accordingly. Between 1981 and 1990, further conversions (approx. 500 locomotives) to 1,200 hp (883 kW) were carried out in the Raw Stendal using the 12 KVD 18/21 AL-4 and AL-5 engines. These locomotives were designated DRG Class 112.
